The vision is compelling
In the fulfilling of this mission, there will be more fathers who are good examples to their children, more husbands who do not wear down their wives with insults and leave them for someone else, more women who do not have to wonder if anyone understands their need for friendship and challenge, more young people who have reason to face the future and to care about the inexpressible miracle of existence that has been given to them. As children of God grow in Christlikeness, there will be more singles with a sense of fulfillment, more husbands and wives who honor one another, more parents who treat their children as they would want to be treated, more homes and churches that are "safe places" for troubled people, more peaceful resolutions to disputes rather than bitterness and regret.

FINANCIAL POLICY
Our legacy
RBC was founded in 1938 by Dr. M. R. De Haan, a former physician and pastor who, from the beginning, adopted a conservative approach to expansion. He believed he could trust God to set the pace of his growing radio ministry. On occasion he made financial needs known in newsletters, but he determined not to let ministry "needs" get in the way of his message. He said that if enough support did not come in, he would take that as the Lord's signal to cut back or "close up ship."
Richard De Haan took over the ministry after his father's death in 1965, and accepted the pattern of support that had developed over the previous 27 years. To avoid overspending, he directed the ministry to "live within its means." To avoid waste, he emphasized to his staff the sacrifice each gift represented. To make RBC teaching accessible to all, he chose to distribute booklets to anyone who requested them.
Today
We still have a deep desire that RBC will never become a financial burden to the Lord's people. To avoid overextending ourselves, we are committed to live within the means God's people have entrusted to us and to move at the Lord's pace rather than our own.
SOURCE OF SUPPORT
Contributions
RBC is not funded or endowed by any private interest group or denomination. Most of our support comes from the gifts of individual Members and churches who include RBC in their missionary budget.
Bequests
Of growing significance to the ongoing outreach of RBC are the provisions that some friends have made by designation in their wills a portion of their estate to go to the Lord's work. While we believe God's people should give first priority and consideration to their own families and local churches, we are thankful for the significant help given to us through planned future giving.
Annuities
Another portion of RBC giving comes from a number of supporters who arrange for continuing income and a one-time tax credit. The funds are placed in a trust, and fixed interest payments are made for life. Upon the annuitant's death the remaining balance is transferred to RBC Ministries. In a joint-survivor annuity, at the death of the second annuitant the remaining balance is transferred to RBC.
RBC'S BALANCED BUDGETING
RBC operates on an annual plan and budget determined by the level of contributions received from the Lord's people. RBC managers balance expenses with funds received.
RBC is committed to:
1. Integrity as a way of life in both finance and doctrine.
2. Oversight by a board of directors - the majority of whom are not family or staff.
3. Annual audits by an independent public accounting firm.
4. Disclosure of a current financial statement upon request.
5. Avoidance of any conflict of interest that would compromise RBC.
6. Annual planning and budgeting based on the level of giving.
7. Spending and expansion at a rate that does not incur indebtedness.
OUR PRINCIPLES
Biblical Foundation
Honor the Bible as the standard by which we must evaluate all belief, instruction, policy, and practice (2 Tim. 3:16).
Remain true to our statement of faith (2 Tim. 1:13).
Reflect a well-rounded approach to doctrinal emphasis (Acts 20:27).
Qualifications for Leadership
Select servant leaders of evident ability and character (Ex. 18;21; 1 Tim. 3:1-13).
Spiritual Resources and Commitment
Stay in close fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't give Him reason to say, "I have this against you, that you have left your first love" (Rev. 2:4).
Do the work of RBC Ministries in the Lord's wisdom and strength rather than trying to do it on our own (Gal. 2:20; 3:3).
Show a consistent pattern of behavior that distinguishes us as the Lord's people, whether on or off the job (1 Pet. 1:14-15).
Always trust in God and do what is right (1 Pet. 3:16).
Concern for Those We Serve
Provide the kind of personal, prompt, and practical attention that we would want for ourselves (2 Cor. 4:5, 15).
Speak the truth in love. Avoid being unnecessarily offensive (2 Tim. 2:24).
Cultivate an open and honest relationship with those who respond to our efforts (2 Cor. 4:2).
Be sensitive to all other relationships and spheres of influence, including but not limited to vendors, visitors, neighbors, community, and government (Rom. 13:7-8).
Concern for Those With Whom We Work
Recognize the individual worth and the personal interests of those with whom we work (Phil. 2:1-4).
Quality of Service
Strive for a quality of workmanship and presentation that will dignify, strengthen, and enhance our message (1 Cor. 10;31).
Be faithful steward of every resource entrusted to us (1 Cor. 4:2).
Character of Service
Increase or decrease outreach as funds are available. Avoid indebtedness (Rom. 13:8).
Never make our organizational survival the dominant motive for decisions (Phil. 1:19-26).
Avoid self-congratulation (Prov. 27:2).
Relationship to Other Ministries
Recognize and respect what the Lord is doing trough other individuals and organizations (1 Cor. 1:10-13).
Avoid any affiliation that would compromise our purpose or weaken our effectiveness (2 Cor. 6:14).
Conduct our ministries in a way that will support and complement the local church (Eph. 4:1-7).
RBC STATEMENT OF FAITH
One God in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The verbal inspiration of the whole Bible as God's infallible revelation to man.
Jesus Christ's deity, virgin birth, sinless humanity, substitutionary death, atoning blood, bodily resurrection, and ascension to heaven.
Salvation by faith in Christ alone, without works, and solely by grace.
The need of works to express gratitude and give a living demonstration of God's transforming power.
The resurrection of the body: eternal glory for believers in heaven, and everlasting punishment for unbelievers in hell.
The one true church, the body of Christ, consisting of all believers, regardless of race or social standing.
Obedience to our Lord's command to lead people of all nations to faith in Christ and to growth in Christlikeness.
The need for spiritual growth through Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and involvement in a Bible-believing church.
The imminent rapture of the church, and Christ's personal return to establish His kingdom on earth.
